This is the time to make a fire, light flickering candles, enjoy hot beverages, take a warm bath, wrap yourself in blankets, and feel maximum warmth. You may be curious about peak coziness. Peak coziness is not just a feeling that you get when the temperature drops but also a feeling of contentment and well-being when you do the simple things in life. The Danish call it “Hygge”.

You’re sipping hot chocolate while it rains or snuggling up with a book and blanket. You have likely experienced Hygge without even realizing. Hygge isn’t a concept. It’s a way of living your life. It is a never-ending quest to find it. Americans define freedom as Hygge. They are the happiest people in the world because of it. Don’t worry! You don’t have to worry! I have compiled a list of their lives that you can use to learn more about this amazing way of living.

Create the Environment

To create a sense of coziness, it is important to set the mood. Hygge wouldn’t be possible without candles. Americans believe that lighting a candle can be dangerous. Every Danish home need candles. Candles that are long-lasting and heavily fragranced will instantly bring a sense of calm into your home. You will find your home feels romantic and peaceful.

Dim the lights

Bright light can increase mood. Dim lighting will help you keep your emotions stable. Colored lighting can enhance or change the way that we see the space. If you want to set an environment as staying-in-cozy-day-no-work, then use dusk, moonlight, fireplace light, or just the candle lights in your room.

Fill your space with pillows and blankets

There is only one blanket and two pillows. These are the less-known ingredients that make a cozy space. Relax and enjoy your day with a book or a cuddle.

Unplug Technology

We check our phones every 5 minutes. Not just our phones, but all our devices are our lifeline. It is not something you should be stressing about work messages. Relaxation can be described as turning on Netflix or binge-watching a series. Screens can cause anxiety and stress, even though we don’t realize it.

It’s a great idea to turn off your electronic devices for at least one full day to reduce stress and unwind.

A cup of tea can make a big difference!

It is so soothing to wrap yourself in a blanket while sipping tea. Unwinding for the entire day will allow you to be ready to go the next day, alert and awake.
